Destination Deutschland

'Tinggggggggggggg'.... it was the sound of a new mail in microsoft outlook.
It caught my eye instantly...for the sender was my Group Manager. My eyes rolled over the content with caution, expecting trouble.
My face twitched, eyebrow raised, grin grew sinister and my voicebox involutarily produced a sound
'what the ....'


The mail was regarding my deputation to Germany. I loathed it... was simply petrified.
Leaving home for long wasn't my way of life. Not then atleast....

25th Feb, 2007 : my date of departure... everything was as in a trance. I couldn't quite assess my feelings.. or
with so many people abreast, i quite didn't find time to think or feel. It was time for a final wave of hand.. a final 'tata babye' to
family and friends at airport.

It seemed..... like being sent on an exile, with 2 comrades in fellowship i neither knew well nor comprehended much.

Little did i know that i was taking my first step of an exotic odyssey, a journey that brought me
immence exposure and a fantastic company.

The airport lobby seemed swarmed with people.... people people everywhere all pleasently persevered.
Not a person perplexed but me...
Was it homesickness, or... the feeling of being alienated.. or neither. Couldn't say for certain...

Then came a girl, a colleague of mine, so seemingly in sync.
She gave a light grin. There was a clear confounding confidence lingering around her...
She didn't seem very happy either, but most certainly... neither did she display any nerves.

It then dawned, how self cribbing i was. It was time for me to switch modes... time for an adreneline surge.
time to get euphoric, time to relish.... gosh... i then forced myself to realize....
IT WAS MY MAIDEN TRIP ABROAD. IT WAS MY MAIDEN TRAVEL THROUGH AIR. IT WAS MY LONG CHERISHED DREAM
OF FLYING COMING TRUE. In short... IT WAS THE BEGINNING OF A NEW, CAREFREE, ENJOYABLE HOLIDAY PACKAGE.
